As an organisation, The Methodist Church cannot ‘rent’ its rooms to individuals or organisations. We do however incur running costs and so we ask for a donation of £12 per hour for the large rooms and £8.50 for the smaller rooms, to cover the cost of gas and electricity and care taking facilities. This donation includes the use of tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery and kitchen facilities, which include a microwave, kettle and tea urn.

If you are interested in using any of our spaces, please contact our Senior Steward, Jeremy, (01865 779070) for more info.

Our largest room is the room downstairs where we gather for worship. We have a wooden screen that can be pulled across the middle of the room to close off the communion table, organ and pulpit. This is adjoined to our kitchen via a large serving hatch and can sit 60. All of our ground floor has disabled access.

Downstairs, at the back, is our second room. It is a suitable meeting room and can sit 20 people comfortably.

Upstairs, we have a smaller room where we keep some of our resources for our toddler group. This too can be divided in two using a screen similar to that found in our main space. This room has a small kitchen “en-suite” and can fit up to 30 people comfortably. Access to this space is via a flight of stairs.

We have disabled toilet facilities and a place for baby changing. We also have a car park large enough for 30 cars.

We have a little storage space so it may be possible for us to keep your equipment on the premises. Our large room is ideal for children’s parties, but we are not licensed for public singing and dancing, NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the premises, and SMOKING ISN’T ALLOWED inside.

Over the years, a number of groups have hired our rooms for long term let, including a Bridge Club, Slimming Club, Theatre Company, Dance Group, Youth Club and Drama Group. The Oxford Philatelic Society, The British Cactus and Succulent Society, The United Methodist Church and The Cowley Chess Club are active users of our rooms.
