Good Food is Good News

Run in partnership between Rose Hill Methodist Church and St. Mary the Virgin Iffley

During lockdown…
(last updated 30th July)

We continue to deliver food (and some activity packs) to families in need, with the help of SOFEA (South Oxfordshire Food & Education Academy) and Rose Hill Junior Youth Club. As part of our service, one of our volunteers will call you weekly to find out how you are and to see if there’s anything else we can do to help.

We are planning to re-open our premises on Wednesday 2nd September with booked timeslots. If you’re currently receiving weekly phone calls, your caller will be in touch with details in August. If not, contact Libby for a timeslot. You need a timeslot and a mask in order to be allowed into the church. We are also only allowing one member of each family into the building.

For more information about Community Cupboard or reopening, or to find out how to get a referral to our food delivery service, please contact Libby by phone (07874 339996) or email (communitycupboard[at]
Replace [at] with @).

Outside of lockdown, we run a food bank and cafe at Rose Hill Methodist Church on Wednesdays from 1.30pm-3.30pm. Anyone can pop in and have some toast, biscuits, share in conversation and get information about local services and groups that run in the area. There is also food available to take away for those who need it, based on a referral system that any of our volunteers on duty will be able to explain. For a list of organisations that can issue referral cards, see here. Most of our the food we have available to take away comes from Oxford Food Bank, The Porch, FareShare and B&M. We also supplement from our own stocks.
