Today is St Lucy’s Day – a day typically celebrated in Scandinavia and focusing on the light of Christmas. Lucy was a young Christian woman who decided that she would spend her life dedicated to helping people who were poorer than her, and gave all her money away. Some people were angered by this, and she was unfortunately killed when she was quite young. Today, in many Scandinavian countries, children have a special feast and carry candles to remember her.

Today, we share Christmas greetings from our very own Lucy, who heads up the hygiene bank – a charity that helps to give essential hygiene products to those in need.
